Do Good! Feel Good!

Thank You:NDG Senior Citizens’ Council

To Whom It May Concern,

Travis Talbot and his Goodwill Travels project journeyed 3700 kilometers to Montreal with the vision of organizing a new fundraising event and to raise awareness for a small non-profit dedicated to the senior community of NDG and Montreal-West.  The ‘La Joie de Vivre’ concept was created as a celebration of life, and for six weeks Travis dedicated every waking hour to make the event a success!!! By scouting out local restaurants, creating promotional artwork, sending press releases to local media; his enthusiasm and generosity never waivered – even when he was met with roadblocks at every turn.

Travis’ invaluable assistance, knowledge and experience benefited the organization in more ways than one. He presented the staff and board with various initiatives and educational seminars regarding social media and internet marketing – broadening our understanding, local visibility and fundraising potential. Additionally, he joined in the Day Away Program’s Christmas festivities as our resident Santa, which brought a smile to all our seniors’ faces!

Travis’ commitment to the cause and community did not end there! For three weeks, he offered up all his free time as a ‘Blue Collar Butler’ to raise more funds for the NDG Senior Citizens’ Council; assisting workers at a local non-profit housework organization. He would visit individuals whose situations of isolation, squalor and despair t would normally be sad dose of reality that would crush anyone’s spirit. For Travis, however, this strengthened his purpose and investment in raising awareness!

The money raised from La Joie de Vivre and the Blue Collar Butler initiatives allows us to continue providing individualized services and assistance to seniors in our community. The success of these events exceeded our expectations and the knowledge gained was priceless.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Travis for  his dedication, support, and most importantly – goodwill!

Sincerely,

Meaghan Valade
